Student Access Feature- Memorial Day Release

The Planbook Plus Memorial Day release presents the Student Access feature. Planbook Plus is already an excellent tool to optimize lesson planning, but with the addition of the new Student Access feature, teachers will be able to increase communication with students, encourage parent involvement and track data that can be used to enhance student success.

Increasing Student & Teacher Communication

As observed throughout time, the fundamental difference between knowing and teaching is communication. The Student Access feature of Planbook Plus enhances communication between teacher and student in several ways. Students will now have access to their grades in real time from anywhere they can access the internet. As soon as the teachers release student grades in the new Gradebook feature, students will be able to log in and see the score they earned on their assignment and view feedback from the teacher. In addition to the ability to view grades, students will have access to teacher designated lesson elements and assignment materials.  They’ll also have the opportunity to prepare for the future with access to view, based on teacher discretion, the course’s scope and sequence.

Encouraging Communication Between Parents & Teachers

In addition to promoting teacher and student communication, the new Student Access feature also opens up a new line of communication between the home and the classroom. Parents will have the ability to view their child’s grades, teacher feedback, and to help their children plan for what’s coming. Parents and students may view elements of the lesson plans chosen by teachers to facilitate student preparation and accountability, all from the comfort of their living room.

Tracking Grades & Student Performance

While the new Student Access features opens up a new means of communication, it also creates the possibility to monitor student grades, measure student progress, and allow teachers to evaluate their instructional approach and materials. Teachers will be able to evaluate how students perform per lesson and experiment with different materials and instructional methods to determine which generates the most successful results. Teachers can now use this new feature as a means of assuring continual improvement.
