Featuring: Gradebook

The Memorial Day feature release for Planbook Plus is all about adding functionality. Planbook Plus was designed by teachers for teachers to make their jobs easier. One of the upcoming features that assists in this task is the new Gradebook. Gradebook provides an alternative way to keep track of grades while saving teachers time, improving communication between home and school, and integrating seamlessly with Planbook Plus- the ultimate lesson planning software.

Saving Time

Teachers have many responsibilities on their plates including lesson planning, classroom management, developing and distributing materials, communicating with parents about student progress, grading work, and that is only the beginning. The new Gradebook feature allows teachers to enter grades directly from their lesson plans, making Planbook Plus the one-stop shop for lesson planning and grading. Gradebook also integrates with the new eLearning feature. Teachers can now assign eLearning lessons for homework or as supplemental instruction. When a student completes the assignment, the eLearning feature can push the grade automatically into the Gradebook. Consider homework that grades itself and manages to find its way into your gradebook!

Improving Communication

The Gradebook will also help improve communication with both students and their parents. Because students have individual logins, students and their parents can access assigned lessons and grades. Parents can see how the students performed on each graded lesson, and can even view the materials the students were given to learn the topic. Not only does Gradebook improve teacher-parent communication, but it gives parents a comprehensive picture of the education their children are receiving.

Easy and Flexible

The usability of Gradebook is one of the main reasons it is such a time-saver. In a single view, teachers, students and parents alike will be able to see the lesson title, corresponding grade, and the student’s average grade in the class. With certain subscription levels, teachers will have access to thousands of eLearning lessons to use as an additional resource, and those grades will generate in the Gradebook upon submission of the lesson. With the Memorial Day release, teachers will be able to put any Lesson Plan in the gradebook in addition to eLearning lessons. Lesson plans create a placeholder in the gradebook for teachers to enter grades. Plan your lessons, and set up your gradebook at the same time. Though this is only the first expansion of many, these new features make Planbook Plus a multi-functional tool in the teacher’s arsenal.
